Philip trained as a Chartered Surveyor in Nottingham and London with a focus on the commercial property sector from the outset. He was a founding partner of Nattrass Giles in Birmingham in 1980 and in Nottingham in 1982. During that time he acted for plc’s and local companies providing professional and transactional advice throughout the UK and specifically in the East Midlands.

He retired from private practice in 2000 and formed a development advisory consultancy with notable successes including:

• Bringing two thriving city centre, mixed-use schemes through planning and subsequent sale at c.£15m and c.£30m respectively.

• Advising on the development of an edge of town office park and an industrial development in the East Midlands. 

In 2004, Philip started a property company to build industrial estates and acquire investment property which he is still involved with today.

With over 40 years’ experience, Philip joins Tydus as a non-executive director to provide guidance and strategic support to the team. Living in Rutland, Philip maintains a vested interest in the Peterborough area and has a detailed understanding of the local market and key stakeholders in the region.
